As previously posted, Beachhead Logistics attended Land Forces 2022 (from 4-6 October), as part of the Defence West stand. For a company that has only been established for 7 months, and an alliance entity for only 5 months, we were amazed and humbled by the support we received from the ADF, the defence industry and fellow exhibitors.
Our most common inquiry was “when will you be ready to perform services”? We are ready now, our alliance operates a fleet of 140 vessels Bhagwan Marine, with ~30 directly capable of performing Logistics Over the Shore and establishing expeditionary/temporary ports. Our other alliance partner Blue Water Shipping has international reach through shipping and multimodal logistics worldwide and are a industry stalwart in the Indopacific
We were also asked if are we part of the LAND8710 Littoral Manoeuvre Vessel tender. Our capabilities are not geared toward Littoral Operations in a Contested Environment (LOCE), so our highest-end capabilities are able to support Expeditionary Advanced Base Operations (EABO).
We are very capable of supporting Littoral manoeuvre with fourth-line Marine (line haul), conducting Logistics Over the Shore (LOTS), and establishing expeditionary/temporary ports (think of very mini mulberry harbours from the Normandy campaign, utilising existing marine fleet), which in turn allows for ADF amphibious warfare assets to be released from supporting LOTS activities, and being able to be retasked. The key message we provided is that we are ready now!
Land Forces 2022 was a brilliant opportunity. I found the experience of four-day immersion of the land force product for my alliance partners so rewarding and I loved seeing the amazement/pride forming from my team in our Army and supporting industry.
